We believe that a thriving local, independent business community is crucial to strong neighborhoods and a vibrant City. Cambridge Local First works throughout the City, collaborating with business associations, city departments, and community leaders to support our independent businesses and make sure your voices are heard.
Our network of fellow business owners, nonprofit leaders, artists and concerned residents keep Cambridge Local First actively focused on:
Government Advocacy and Awareness
Cambridge Local First Government Affairs Committee members serve on significant City advisory boards and committees to ensure that information, ideas and feedback that concern our independent businesses gets to communicated to our business members. We work closely with every major business association in Cambridge keep independent business's well-being at the top of the City's agenda. And we issue letters of support and attend City meetings in person to ensure that your voice is heard.

Online and Print Local Member Listings
We use our online reach and our professionally designed print materials to make it easy for businesses, nonprofits, Cambridge residents and visitors to support our local economy. Every business, nonprofit and artist member is listed online and in a Member Listing. We offer additional advertising in our materials to increase your market impact.
Our Public Outreach Committee produces an annual calendar of events designed to engage Cambridge's neighborhoods in our mission. From the 1,000+ member “Women in Cambridge” networking group to our annual signature events and our neighborhood collaborations, Cambridge Local First fosters closer relationships between our members and the residents that sustain our economy.
We back up our in-person activity with a strong, consistent social media presence and monthly newsletter that highlight your activities as a Cambridge Local First member alongside the Cambridge news and issues that bind our community together.
