Bruner/Cott: Beautiful buildings that work
Designing and building is a team process at Bruner/Cott. We work together — architect and client, architect and contractor — to shape ideas, creating buildings that are a pleasure to experience outside and in. Contractors appreciate our technological expertise and our team approach. Clients appreciate our informed design, attention to economics and consideration of community; 80% have worked with us on more than one project.
Managing and operating our own buildings — a million square feet — we understand the balance between capital investment and operating costs. We have first-hand knowledge of the relationship between development, design, operation and maintenance, and we skillfully leverage these variables.
Our roots are in adaptive reuse; in the 1970s we pioneered the re-purposing of buildings, and our experience with existing structures developed our sense for economy of effort and design. Today, most of our buildings are designed de novo. Our designs recognize the character and value of existing fabric, building, neighborhood and campus. Integrated, sustainable design extends beyond the boundaries of a single building. Whether transforming an existing building or designing a new one, we make buildings that communicate with their surrounds — each with its own identity, each in response to program, place and time.
For 40 years, Bruner/Cott has been committed to balanced design.
We make buildings that work.
