| Directory Advertising
I have heard many of our business members express regret that they did not place an ad in the 2007 member directory. And, those who did place ads have been very pleased with results. Don't miss this valuable opportunity for our 2008 directory.
To date, we have distributed 18,000 directories throughout the city (we only have 2,000 left in storage and those are going fast!) and have educated and guided our residents, tourists, students and city employees on the importance of shopping local and where to find local businesses.
You can download the ad form which gives pricing, details and deadlines. Or, give me a call and I'll follow up with you to make it happen! 857-998-7392!
By placing an ad in the directory, you are making only a small investment but one that will have a huge impact on your business and the future of Cambridge Local First. |
BALLE Conference 2007 Summary
Karen and Laury and several SBN members journeyed to the University of California, Berkeley campus to attend the 5th National BALLE conference. There were over 500 in attendance and the three days plus of learning, listening, laughing and love can't possibly be summarized except maybe to say it was a life experience and I wish each and every one of you had been there. It was so exciting to see so many like-minded people in the same room with the same mission.

Got Employment?
Its summer and school is out (or almost). It has come to our attention that some of you have young adults in your charge who would love to have a summer job. What better place to be employed than in one of our locally owned businesses.
As well, you may be an employer looking for help. Please feel free to e-mail me with specifics and I will be glad to help coordinate your search with Cambridge Local First members.
Adam Penn, of Veggie Planet writes:
Karen: I'm actually wondering if you can use any summer help either at your store or for Cambridge First. My stepdaughter is back in town (she boards during the school year), having just finished her junior year of high school. She's very bright and very capable. Of course she'd prefer paid work, but if you can use any help with Cambridge First initiatives and don't have a budget for that, perhaps she might be interested in volunteer work as well... or perhaps some of both (paid work at the store, volunteer work for Cambridge First).
Please Respond to Adam if you have need of summer help. |
